I always feel that life is too easy, as if everything I've ever wanted were just an illusion. For a brief moment, everything shines so sweetly, as if all my desires were part of a magical game - and then, in the next instant, when I finally reach them, all that remains is emptiness. As if it were nothing more than a passing wind.
I long to feel, to connect - but when I finally experience what I've been yearning for, I suddenly feel the need to pull away. It's as if my body and my soul want to live separately, as if I wanted both intimacy and freedom at the same time, but couldn't figure out how to hold on to both.
To me, these photographs represent a desired self - a version of me I've never dared to become. It's as if I were seeing fragments of my own illusion reflected back at me. These images are not just moments captured in time; they mirror a world I've always found fascinating, yet also feared.
That's what draws me - the edge, the borderline where strength, aggression, pain, and freedom meet. The desire to be different, not like the others, not stuck in the gray everyday. The feeling that I could touch everything, and yet it all remains out of reach — as if I belonged to another reality.
But then comes the question: if I surrender myself to this world, what will be left of me?"
Work presented as part of the “Human Inside” exhibition at Galerie Artverse, Paris, 2025.
