About
Have you ever heard of Rose Patience? She once killed the artist in her to earn a living. She managed a great business as a graphic designer but the artist never died. Now the artist is back, wondering what to show, and what to hide… Rose Patience is a French pictorial and digital artist. She mixes painting, ink, photography and digital techniques to create introspective images, refined blends of minimalism and complexity.

Pigment print on fine art paper
“I layer things. Once I'm satisfied, I finally feel at peace. That is quite rare, because I search for too long, so the whole image becomes darker and darker. On other days, I'm confident in my line, so I draw what I want. Since I constantly have to decide what to shown and what to hide, it's exhausting.”
Behind continues Rose Patience’s portrait series. By combining pictorial and digital materials, the artist questions the construction of her own identity. Her formal explorations express the tensions between being and appearing as part of a search for self-acceptance.
Work presented as part of the “Human Inside” exhibition at Galerie Artverse, Paris, 2025.

"You can never be wrong when making a portrait; you’re inventing someone that already exists" explains the artist, for whom the mixture of traditional and digital techniques is a way of expressing the confrontation of her reality with the randomness of her imagination.

BATTLE #1
ROSE PATIENCE
"My Battles are the confrontation between acrylic and glitch. How can they interact and what do they say together? What does this digital patch hide or reveal? Is it easier not to do anything?"

ROSE PATIENCE
“I create to free myself from the constraints imposed on me. Still, I am the one imposing my own constraints now. When won’t I have any constraints, neither those of others nor my own?”
