The Empire of Indulgence denounces the hedonism of Western civilization, and warns against the instability and unhap- piness it could eventually cause. The work is part of a series of four paintings made with AI, inspired by The Course of Empire (1833-1835), by American painter Thomas Cole, condemning this obsession with progress that would lead to our (self?) destruction.
Much more than a science-fiction painting, The Empire of Indulgence aims to be a portrait of today's society.
