Daniel Bourgais is a visual artist born in Ethiopia, raised in Normandy, and currently working in Paris. He uses photogrammetry to multiply viewpoints and capture the diversity of situations. Fragment I
In this negatoscope installation, the artist uses photogrammetry to imperfectly render reality, echoing our selective and subjective memory of a place or scene. In so doing, he reflects on notions of trace and memory.
Artwork presented at "The Poetics of Water", an exhibition organized in collaboration with DANAE, Paris, 2024.
